Jacob Lusk, American Idol contestant,   has a criminal record. Jacob spent three days in jail, where he sang for his fellow inmates, and begged for the judge to end his two year probation period so he could actually compete on FOX’s talent show.
In February 2009, Jacob was cited for riding an LA metro without buying a ticket. He missed his court date and a warrant for his arrest was issued. In November of 2010, Jacob was pulled over for a traffic stop and cops arrested him, a day after he earned his golden ticket to Hollywood during his first audition on Idol.
Jacob pled no contest to the train-hopping charge and was sentenced to 3 days in jail and 2 years probation. Jacob did his time and had the opportunity to prepare for Idol by singing to 170 inmates.
One of the guards reportedly yelled through the loud speaker “This isn’t a f**king singing contest”; while another guard called it “bad a$$” when Jacob sang a farewell song. Jacob went back to court and convinced the judge to end his probation and that’s how Jacob got into American Idol.
So what does this mean for the rest of us? Because I doubt My judge will let me off I get arrested so easily...even if i write a song, do a skit, and show my talents in the courtroom.....but on second thought...his crime wasn't even that serious...
