The spies, many of whom had been working for years undercover in the United States as sleeper agents, returned to Russia in a Cold War-style spy swap.
Russian spy Anna Chapman has denied her marriage to former public schoolboy Alex Chapman was a sham to cover up her espionage work.
Miss Chapman, 29, says she fell in love with the Briton because he looked like Liam Gallagher.
'I ask you not to look for "secret motives" where there aren't any. It was love at first sight, which only grew stronger every day.'
Mr Chapman, from Stuckton, Hants., and the beautiful agent - the daughter of a Russian diplomat - met at a rave in Canary Wharf, east London.
The pair married in a Moscow registry office five months later, meaning Miss Chapman became a UK citizen.
She was just 19 years old at the time; her husband was 21.
But their relationship came under strain after they returned to London, as Miss Chapman began mixing with rich and powerful Russian ex-pats in the capital.
In 2006, after five years of marriage, the couple split and last year Miss Chapman was exposed as a spy.
Since returning to her native country she has become one of Russia's biggest celebrities.
